She is just simply BEAUTIFUL and very intelligent
her biggest accomplishment: she jumps up to the
handle of the French door leading outside and opens
the door - walks PROUDLY inside - with tail held high
and just goes on about her business - I told her,
now you have to learn to close the door. We love
her very much..
Leena’s answer:
I can so imagine how beautiful she can be… And isn’t it just amazing how clever cats can be? At the moment we have two Abys and one Somali (Rolli who writes the diary on this site). Before them we had two Abys and a “moggie”, all of whom lived to be quite old. And the Aby boy, Casanova, knew exactly how to open doors. He nonchalantly walked to any closed door and almost without stopping measured the distance to the door handle, made a light hop so he got his front paws over it and then just let his body weight pull the handle down. And in he walked, just like Miss Kitty – with tail held high, proudly.
We really had to warn our guests when they went to the bathroom that they’d better lock the door behind them. Because Abys are known to be very curious – just like Korats LOL. A closed door was a challenge – surely there was something extremely important behind there if someone was trying to keep the cats out!
The other cats did not open doors, but that was probably because they never needed to. Casanova took care of this for them.
Closing the door… Now that would be the perfect skill for a cat! That way, if you have an outdoor cat and no cat door, you would not have to run to the door all the time when the cat decides it wants out… no, in… no, out… You know the drill…

This book travels with the King Tut - Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh exhibition on his world tour of ten cities from March 2018 onwards |
Tutankhamun: In My Own Hieroglyphs tells the story, for older children, of the life and afterlife of the famous young pharaoh in his own words. Tutankhamun tells us about the trouble he got into as a child in Akhenaten's palace in the new city of Akhetaten, and how he became a boy pharaoh. As we learn, his life changed a lot when he died as a teenager, and long years of boredom started in his tomb with only his pet monkey Fingers and his treasure for company. He did meet some of the Egyptian gods, of course, and had fun scaring off tomb robbers, but it was mostly rather dull. Then one day, some new and strange people, including a Mr. Howard Carter, arrived and began to take all the treasures out of his royal tomb. Fortunately, through the eyes of his beautiful golden mask, Tutankhamun, could have fun again traveling around the world |

Another hilarious adventure for children with Mr Mummific, the mummy with attitude. He now tells the story of his mishaps, misunderstandings and misadventures as he leaves his tomb through the False Door to embark on the complicated and dangerous journey to the Afterlife aboard the magnificent Ship of Millions.
